98 sierra 1500 2wd to 4wdthe using a 92?

Ok I got two trucks a 98&92 sierra 1500 one is 2wd one 4wd four wheel drive body is junk running gear is fine its the 92. 98 is 2wd oh both are automatics. It runs fine but need 4wd. So can I use all the 4wd stuff (ifs) from the 92 under the 98. Or do I change bodys

If i remember right the 2wd and 4x4 frames are different in the front so it might not work to just bolt in the ifs.I think your stuck swapping bodies or doing a solid axle swap on the 2wd frame which can be done.

Appreciate it but don't want straight axle don't really need it. I don't think the ifs will work on the 2wd92 do the motor cradle and spring pockets but may be wrong

I did some reading looks like your stuck swapping bodies or fixing up the 4x4 trucks body.
