New wheels

For those of you wondering about using the new 2500 HD wheels on our 3/4 ton subs, it can be done.

they look great! how did you get the center caps to work with the standard studs? did you swap out the studs for the 12mm metric studs? just curious. those wheels would look great on my Cheyenne20.

You can buy a conversion lug nut that is 9/16" standard threads and then has the center cap threads on the outside. They were $1 a piece at the local wheel and trailer shop. You can get them online also from places like stockton wheel.

The only real problem was the center caps clearing the huge hub in the back. To get around that, I used a suggestion by tom hand on the truck board to double stack the lug nuts. I used my original nuts first, then threaded on the conversion nuts (these just barely threaded on), and put the center caps on. They stick out a little bit further, but you can't tell until you are right up against the truck, and even then you have to look close.

It was a pretty cheap swap for new wheels, and I love the fact I have chevy center caps on sweet looking wheels.
