Re: Trucks Are Beautiful

This was the Old 40 chapter of the ATCA annual show that was snowed out in April. It got added on to a bigger event at the Washington County Rural Heritage Museum at the Ag Center. Both days they had the truck show that's normally only one day. There were demonstrations going on with old farming techniques including a group potato dig. They get the kids out and dirty. They have a saw mill run off a belt as well as a stone crusher. Hand made demonstrations of all sorts including cooking. They had good food to eat and there was also a decent size cruise-in going on under a couple big pavilions in the shade. I really neat event overall

Re: Trucks Are Beautiful

Skipped over this one. My favorite at the truck show. This and a few others shown are antique tractor haulers. It's not a big show, new chapter/new show. Not sure if they'll keep it this weekend or keep it in April. But it's the first week which can be too early weather wise.

Ok, tractors are beautiful, too. Never seen this conversion before:

Re: Trucks Are Beautiful

Yeah, it's a young show, new chapter, and in the more rural part of the state. Also the show is normally in April. But not a bad turnout. And also also, this was Sunday and it was a Sat/Sun local show. So no overnighters for the weekend like bigger shows. I didn't see anyone from my local ATHS chapter and we all got e-mails on it and we all mix up with ATCA. Many are members of both, such as me. Coming up is our Tri-State show where there will be at least 300 entries. Four ATHS chapters are involved from Maryland, Virginia, and Pennsylvania. It should be a four state show since WVA line is only a few miles from the show, but I guess they are in the VA chapter (Shenandoah)

Re: Trucks Are Beautiful

Wouldn't it? I would someday like to build a camper on an old heavy truck. I've seen some real top notch jobs, probably by the camper company. But I'd like to buy the skin material and build my own.

This Marmon is top notch

This guy was at a show in PA and I believe he was from CA. It sits on a newer 1t chassis. Pretty neat!

Great advertising pictures. I love that stuff. These would go nicely in one of the GM Truck picture threads with their other buddies.

Re: Trucks Are Beautiful

Yes it is. I like the wagon style body on the back. I'd like to have a truck to built such a bed on, but like a Stepside bed with fenders. I love the iron and wood.

Here's a Ford Model TT hard at work

Re: Trucks Are Beautiful

That old Ford must have been built pretty tough. Looks like that load doesn't even phase it.

Not like the '55 Ford 3/4 Ton Flat Bed we used to have at the Lumber Yard I worked at. The 2-Ton IH was out of service and our boss told us to use the Ford in it's place. I immediately question that, but didn't say a word to him. We loaded it and went to take off and it wouldn't move. The Flat Bed was sitting on the tires, lol. I told the guy I was working with it was a crazy idea in the first place.

Re: Trucks Are Beautiful

That bed needed a couple rollers on each side to spin with the tires... Ha ha hah!

This is a local (Waynesboro, PA) trucking outfit, pretty much just dry bulk cement to plant. The owner is big on Mopar and has this Big Horn done in fleet paint.

Looks like early 60s Chevy vans or GMC Handi-Vans. The single axle tractors are Chevy & Gmc's... Thought I could make out an Olds on the car hauler
