Re: front drive shaft 1980 length

Looking to see, but I did find some good info on years from an unmentionable company. They follow the one size fits all idea of things.

"Fits the following Chevrolet Blazer - Full Size Years
1966-1994 Chevrolet Blazer - Full Size"

Too bad there wasn't a picture to show reference to the "64-66" Blazer.

I have a driveshaft from a 1980 th350/205 that I could measure if it is the same length.

Yes please measure the length, that would be very kind of you. I know the difference between th400 vs. th350,
so I am looking forward to it.

Re: front drive shaft 1980 length

heres what I have, Not sure if it was completely able to travel like it was new because its old and dirty but it seemed like it did.

Top: 77ish 4speed/205

Middle: 1980 th350/205
My measurements in inches from the back of the flange to the center of the front u-joint:
Compressed, 25 3/4 inches
Extended, 28 5/16 inches

Bottom: Not sure , supposedly chevy, I paid 5 bucks for it at a swap meet

Thank you for the information,
I have seen online that the th400 is 2 3/4" longer then the th350 so I know now the proper length=28.5" th400/205.
I been confused because a GM dealer told me 29 5/8" but that measurement must have to be when bolted in place with the wheel on the ground.
28.5 plus inn travel=29 5/8 I guess??
