Re: what gear ratio?

My 94 Burb with 3:73's is at 2200 at 70MPH. My preference is for 3:42's so that you are at 2000 at 70MPH and your fuel mileage is a lot better around town cause the truck doesn't rev as high between shifts.

Re: what gear ratio?

I have 3.73s in my truck and hate them with a passion, but I tow with it.

I would kill for a set of 3.08s for my truck but SF 14B only go down to 3.42s.

Re: what gear ratio?

give the tire size and which tranny you have.

My 91 Chevy had a 3.42 geared rear end with a 700 R4 OD tranny. I ran a lower profile tire that was at 28" tall. This gave me an RPM of 2050 to 2100 at 70 MPH. That worked great for this combination and I averaged 19 mto 20 MPG with the truck.

Re: what gear ratio?

Right now I am running a nv3500 5 speed with 275/55/15 rear tires. I would like to swap the 5 speed for a 700r4 down the road.
