What headers to use with a 4/6 drop?

Hey guys, I have a 1985 c10 350/700r. Currently it has a 3/5 drop with springs in front and flip kit in the rear. I'm running flow tech long tube header that hang down pretty low but I only have issues scraping when I hit a big bump to hard.

I'm about to redo the whole frontend and change the drop to 4.5/6 with spindles and springs. I want to get the exhaust to tuck under the truck so should I be looking at shorty headers or mid-range?

Supposedly Chevelle or Camaro long tubes tuck up better, but I have never used them myself.

Re: What headers to use with a 4/6 drop?

following, ive tried to search the forum and google but haven't found pics or solid info on Camaro/chevelle filtment, so probably going with clipsters too. worried about clearance more than all out performance of long tube vs mid length. anyone else find more info and especially pics?

Re: What headers to use with a 4/6 drop?

Any brand header w/a 'shorty' or mid-length "3/4" option will work better than full length long tube header as far as ground clearance under a lowered truck.

Thank you. These are the ones I’ve been looking at just wanted to be sure they would fit before I ordered them.

Re: What headers to use with a 4/6 drop?

I have Chevelle/Camaro mid length headers on mine. They fit really nice. No clearance issues. My suspension setup is around 5/7.

Re: What headers to use with a 4/6 drop?

I did some digging in my files and found the headers are an offshore brand from Skip White Performance, but they no longer sell them. They fit really well with plenty of clearance from the frame and starter. They are stainless (cheap) and have nice welds with a pretty thick flange. You can find them on ebay or amazon I'm sure by now for a decent price. They fit 1968-77 Chevelle. 1967-81 Camaro and some G bodies.

Re: What headers to use with a 4/6 drop?

Thank you guys for all the suggestions. I ended up going with the Patriot Clippsters. The look great and bolted right up with no issues. I took Bigarmzz advice and ordered a Tejas steelworks Transmission crossmember too.
