bbc peanut heads and porting
So stuck a valve on panel and long way from having a real set ready to go on. A smart guy would just repair these lousy peanut heads. Me I have to at least pocket port them. Looks as if opening the ports to a mid ground between factory and real oval port. Hard to see how I could open them enough to get as much flow a stock 049 or =. Well w/o hitting water.
Wondering if anyone here has ported or had a set ported and results, power increase wise.

http://www.chevelles.com/forums/13-p...drag-test.html
search for 'peanut ports' or '236' heads in the performance section over at Team Chevelle... Lots of info there.

Re: bbc peanut heads and porting
While I'm sure some could get lot more out of these things. using my homemade flow bench(old copy popular hot rodding) ,die grinder, cpl burs and about 8 hours. I ddi mange to pickup flow about 50 cfm intake and 40 or so exhaust. Now changing valves probably helped more than anything. Don't ask for numbers because have had too many arguments opver them. This is homemade deal and really only good for before and after comparison. Numbers will be way ;low compared to super flow due to less test level air flow.
Now if anyone has a superflow sitting around in the way, give me a shout I'll help you out and move it for you.LMAO IMO its worth hundred bucks for valve job(had valves laying here for 15 years or so) and a Saturday(all day and evening) of work.
