Who can help with SPID and production numbers?

I have seen the thread for production numbers, but I'm wondering why there aren't any numbers for a 1970 K10 SWB V8. Anyone?

My VIN is KE140T106473; model number KE10734

Yes the SPID was reproduced.

Cool Re: Who can help with SPID and production numbers?

There are no specific numbers for certain trucks with a V8. Only numbers for 2 wheel drive and 4 wheel drive long bed and short bed but no numbers for specific options. I wish I could find this out too but everyone here says no one knows. Somewhere someone has these numbers hidden away.

Any idea then why they would list models for 1969 as KE10734 (V8), but then in 1970 as KS10734 (I6)? Or is this just because they don't know and alternated the "E" V8 option and "S" I6 option between years?

Re: Who can help with SPID and production numbers?

I see what your saying about the E and S. I think they just alternated between them and these numbers include V8 and I6. Someone may know more about this than me. Where did you get your SPID done? Looks good

So you're thinking that for 1970, the production numbers listed for models KS10734 includes both V8 & I6? Even though the model number has "S" for I6?

Not sure where my friend Rick got the SPID done. It was done before I bought the truck from him. There is someone on this site that supposedly does a bang-up job though.

Re: Who can help with SPID and production numbers?

SPID was done by boardmember Chipflyer, and yes he does an excellent job.

Yes I'm very positive that these numbers are V8 and I6 engines

Re: Who can help with SPID and production numbers?

If this is the case, and I read this right, then my 1970 K10 SWB Fleet (model KE10734) is one of 2,554 made. I would think that this would make it somewhat of a rarity. I wouldn't think that there would be too many TRUE 1970 K10 SWB Fleetsides out there any more.

Yes that's how I read it. Any 4x4 short bed is going to be rare and hard to find for sure
