47-50 Door glass run channel

Anyone ever do away with the metal edging on the door glass and just run a narrow run channel for it? I know the glass I'm using is tempered and just wondering if it's possible or feasible to lose the edging. I'm putting in power windows currently and just thought it would look alot nicer...

Cheers,
Ted.

Ted-

This is pretty common. I am doing the same thing on my truck. As you mentioned you just need to make sure that you use a C-channel designed for 1/4" glass (which is the thickness once the metal trim is removed from the glass). I like the look as it is cleaner and looks more modern.

I found my c-channal at a local car show from a vender. I'm sure there are several sources for it. My be Steele rubber products.

Good luck
Marc
