1972 Suburban 4x4 3/4 ton K20 rear parking brake

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone knows where I might source a new rear parking / e-brake for a 1972 Suburban 4x4 3/4 ton K20.

I have searched everywhere and can't find one. I called Inline Tube and they don't produce one. However, they did tell me that if I send them a sample that they could reproduce it. Unfortunately, both of my rear ones are missing.

Any help/suggestions would be appreciated.

Regards,
Nick

Which part exactly are you searching for? Most of the emergency brake parts are the same as any C20 4x4 and some cross to the 2wd leaf spring trucks.

The rear parking brake cables are different with the K10s. What parts are you looking for? If you need brake lines you can bend them yourself.

Hi and thanks for your response. As pwdcougar indicated, the rear portion of the emergency brake cable for a 4x4 3/4 ton K20 Suburban is different than other variants. From my understanding, this is due to them bolting up to the backing plate in a different way.

I'm going to try and see if I can find a used one and send it to Inline Tube for them to reproduce it, that way they have the template and people can order them as needed.

Regards,
Nick

Hi, yes, I agree, my understanding is that the rear paring break bolts up to the backing plate is different for 4x4 3/4 ton K20's than for other variants.

My rear parking brake cables are missing (that's the way it was when I bought the truck). That's one of the few parts I am stuck on. In terms of the overall braking system, I'm planning on redoing them from scratch, like you suggested.

Thanks and regards,
Nick
