Cab molding question ?

I'm new to the forum and have heard nothing but great stuff about it. So I'm glad to be apart of it .

I was looking on LMC and the have molding for 73-80 and then 81-87. Question is will the 73-80 molding work on my 86 ?
Thanks in advance

Here's a pic of my 86 project .

Re: Cab molding question ?

If you are referring to the molding that goes under the back window and around the corners of the b pillar I believe the answer is yes. Some of this molding we held on with special clips that slid over and t-bracket that was welded to the cab, but I am sure people have made it work with out those.

Re: Cab molding question ?

yes that moulding will fit on any 73-87 trucks. I have pop riveted the clips on before without problems. You could also look for small screws to hold the clips on.

Do you like the way the 73-80 molding looks better? Just curious why you wouldn't use the 81-87...

Re: Cab molding question ?

A guy I talked to has some off an 80 model and when I was looking on LMC they have different part #s But I do like the black lines on the 73-80 molding on LMC better .
