All I need to look at is the vehicle and can tell it's not real. Where would the engine go? Where would you sit? Where do your legs go? Hpw could that door hang?

Maybe it is possible with Corvair power

Look at that ford. Look where the driveshaft goes. How could that door work? How does the engine fit in there and where would you sit? Look at all COEs. The cab is raised up high for a reason. Look at GM's last ones and you will see why they are built the way they are. The only low down cabs are the ones that put the driver out in front of the engine and front axle

The chopped suburban does look funny but in a cute kinda way. My thinking says it would be a lot like an old (65-68 Chevy) van with the engine between the seats and maybe behind the seats with the bottom of the seat directly above the front wheels. Not saying it would be easy but doable. The doors on the tan photo chopped suburban were not touched and would work fine. Only trouble with them would be the height the glass could drop and might have to stick above the top a bit? The drive shaft length would be an issue but I bet could be worked out. I agree the Ford driveshaft looks too steep but its ugly anyway. The grill connection at the bottom of the windshield would be tricky too but maybe fiberglass to fill in the gap. Leave the radiator in the front and put a tunnel from it to the engine bay between the seats. Way better cooling then the 60's vans as they had the radiator inside the engine bay with no air flow except from below.

Yes, that's it. Well without the amusement ride in the back it is.
That could look like a 1/2 or 3/4 ton version of the Corvair pickup. It'd be a real tire burner for sure.

I don't know, I just search and things pop up. I searched Corvair truck hoping to find at least one customized into 4wd or mid-engine and found that. Never knew about it till now with all my interest over all the years in GM Trucks, especially off road stuff. GM sure did the research and development off an awful lot of advanced concepts

GMC evidently gave some thought to upgrading the medium duty 'Steel Tilt' at some point, but ended up continuing the 1960 based styling until they were dropped in 1980:
