Post converting bench seat to a fold down

i have a locked bench seat and was wondering if anybody has ever turned their's into a folder? i hate the goddam locking seat.....has anyone ever tried this before? i need more storage space......thanx for the help

i have a fold down seat in tacoma if you want it come get it it need a cover but fram looks ok ...or its to the dump

just remove the upper hinge bolt on each side and you got yourself a folding unit... now you just need to put the tank under the bed...

does removing the uper bolt really work? have you tried it before? dont meant o sound skeptical......it just doesnt seem that easy. thanx for the replies.

It'll work, but there's some things that are nnot quite right.
If you have a new seat cover, the part that covers the hinge will rip off.
The seat wll not stay upright, it will be leaning on the back wall.
The seat will rup on the arm rests ever time you flip it, and this WILL end up ripping both the seat and the arm rest.

I made a bracket that mounts on the passenger side of the seat to act as a rest for the seat back to lay against. On the drivers side I use a 3/8's pip pin through the top bolt hole to lock the seat.

I made a couple of hard rubber stop blocks for the seat to rest against and installed them by bolting them to the seat frame. seems to work good. I have not had this in place very long, so I am not sure of any long term problems.
