Bought me a "new" truck.
1999 Dodge 2500 laramie slt. Got's the good ol 24 valve 5.9 cummins and a 5 speed manual. Setup pretty well to. 1 ton leafs with air bags and she's running 35's. Cold air intake, upgraded intake elbow, 4 inch exhaust(about to do muffler delete), and a mild tuner. Runs like a champ even at 264K.
Best thing is....Everything works! Just needs a crank sensor(rpm gauge quits once in awhile) and the vacuum hose for the exhaust brake hooked up. Other than that I've been dailying it for 5 days and loving every minute of it.

Re: Bought me a "new" truck.
Nice truck you'll love it. I've got one of the last 5.9 ctds that were made. Build date 01/07 had to look for it since the others were the 6.7s

Re: Bought me a "new" truck.
Thanks!
Nice find! Those 6.7's are pretty peppy engines after a full delete and tune. I'm just more of a fan of the proven reliability of the 5.9's.

Re: Bought me a "new" truck.
Nice truck. You can still drive that to Mexico and run it on goat piss. My 2004 5.9 common rail was the best truck I've ever owned. I've been keeping one eye open for a clean 12 valve to have as an armageddon go to hell truck. Fun!

Re: Bought me a "new" truck.
good luck, being a 24V daily driver myself...all i can say is be attentive to any issues / acts.
the electrical is touchy, the lift pumps are garbage and the steering plain eats it. |

Re: Bought me a "new" truck.
I did buy it new. But every dealer had the new 6.7's. I never buy the first year of a new car or engine
