Time for tires
Ok, got my rally's (15X8) sandblasted and all painted. Now it's time for tires. I want something that looks good but still drives good.
Tell me your story!!

What width rims??
I have 15x8's on the front and 15x10's on the back. All tires are T/A's, with 245-60 up front and 275-60 out back. Early Classic used the 245-60's all the way around on their trucks with 15x8 rallye's. I had previously run a 235-60 on a 15x7 aluminum wheel, but they are too short, especially with the 2.5-inch drop spindles I have.

went from the 275/60 on 8" to the 235 /70 15. found that the 275/60's ware to fast in the center of the tread for me.

255-60-15 look pretty good on 15x8 rally rims.

Walked into Jegs with $400, came out with 4 tires and enough for a real cheap date. 2 275/60s for the rear, and 2 245/60s for the front. (BFG's)
15X8 rallys like yours.  I don't have them mounted on the burb yet... but I will here in a few more days. Here's my old GMC with the same size tires. 10 inch rims in back, and 6.6 up front. The width of the rim makes a HUGE difference in the height of the tire. |

I'm going to go with 255/60 15 BF Goodrich Radial TA's on the front. They are getting mounted on my ralleys tomorrow. When my truck is done I will probably run 275/60 15's on the rear.

The BFG's aren't the best tire on the market, HOWEVER... They last pretty good if your front tires are pointed int he same direction and you keep the burnouts to aminimum, they are fairly quiet, stick fairly good, and they look good with white letters in, or out (depending on what look you are going for)
They are fairly inexpensive considering they are pretty good in all the areas I mentioned. One area they do fall short in, is wet weather. I never cared for them in the rain. Well, they suck in the snow too... but that's not what they are ment for. |

i have 255/70r15 daytona Dayton sr tires on my truck best tire i ever rode on but they quit making them

I'm a cheapo, and I wanted to rotate, so I went with BFG 255/60 on all four corners. Having seen it now, though, I wish I would have gone wider on the rear.

I just bought a set of 255-70-15 BFG's for my DD.I really like them and unless I find a much better deal will be running 255-70-15 on the rear and 225-70-15 on the front of the panel.I agree with LHM but figure I will probably have to replace due to age before I wear them out.I usually only put about 5,000 a year on the Panel.
BTW I had 255-65-15's Goodyears on the DD before and they are an awsome tire.I just could not bring myself to spend over $800.00 for them.The first ones lasted 60,000 miles and I'm still using the spare.

I have 275 60 toyo proxies all the way around they grip good. They are directional so you can rotate front to rear...
