Found a Junkyard Suburban

I convinced myself that even though I walk away from the big portland swap meet disappointed every single year, this time would be different. Disappointment struck again after spending a couple hours sorting through piles of expensive “rat rod” parts, so I bailed. I decided on the way home to hit up a junkyard. I found a ‘62 burb at Sherwood OR pick-n-pull that has a couple nice pieces left on it. I didn’t need anything, but it’s got a good filler door area panel, fuel tank, aluminum grille, Eaton rear that spins, all torsion bar hardware, and clamshells (those weren’t so great). If anybody’s close they’re having a 50% off sale until tomorrow.

Nope I didn’t take anything off it. I don’t need any of it, so hopefully someone around here can use something and grab it before it disappears. I’m worried that with scrap prices shooting up, the “50% OFF!” sale might mean “come grab what you can before we crush everything!”

Re: Found a Junkyard Suburban

I saw very little in the way of truck parts there this year.
