Talking TBI question

i'm gonna buy a 88 k5 with a 350 soon.the owners took the tbi setup for himself and put a carb on it.my question is that i can buy a TBI setup for the truck that came off of a 88 camaro with a 305 and was wondering if replacing the injectors with replacement injectors for a 350 be okay or is it more extensive than that?truck still has ecm but needs a new chip.any thoughts?

Why not get the correct 350 setup at a junkyard. That way there is no question.

mainly because i can get a good deal on the setup from the camaro and if i got the setup for my truck from the junkyard i would replace the injectors as p.m. so if the only difference in the two is the actual injectors then i can continue to be a cheap @$$ !! LOL

If you can get the Camaro setup go for it, it will work short ofsome minor changes. First swap to 55( stock truck 350) or 65 pph( stock cop Caprice) injectors over the 45 pph 305 pieces. Then from there all you will need is a chip for a 350, I believe you can pirate one from a 88 or 89 Caprice or a truck, although the Caprice( 9C1 cop cars) have better fuel and timing curves than the trucks do. You could get one burned to, but thats not really necessary, just tell whoever you are buying the chip from the number on the ECM and they can get the correct chip. The only addition that will affect you is the cars have a IAT( inlet air temp) sensor and trucks don't but if you get a truck chip you can eliminate it anyhow. The only other thing is supposedly trucks have a better intake than Camaro 305's did, I don't personally know of any difference, but the stock intakes aren't all that great anyhow so I don't think either way it will make a difference.
