How can I remove the oil cooler

I want to delete the factory oil cooler on this 87 I'm working on. I'v seen the bolt in oil bypass part that people say you need, and maybe I am dense, but I don't see how installing that piece allows the oil filter outer O-ring to seal against the block.

Re: How can I remove the oil cooler

if your set up is like my 1990 nbs style, you basically remove all that crap and throw it in the garbage then you have to buy a adapter that screws onto the block

if you order that adapter it does not come with a gasket. which i found strange but i guess if a bit of oil leaks its not going anywhere

when i did my 93 s10 it was just a double sided threaded piece

Re: How can I remove the oil cooler

What threads are the radiator fitting for the cooler inlet/outlet? I need to buy plugs for those if I remove the cooler lines
