Back with a new project...84 Chevy Custom Deluxe 1/2 ton

After a couple years away from having a project and daily driver...I am back. I bought a 84 Chevy Custom Deluxe 1/2 ton. It was originally a 250 - 6 cyl auto. someone dropped a early 350 in it. Also has a tilt column from a 73-80 and a dash pad from possibly the same truck. The 350 runs great.

A couple of year ago I got my hands on a 26 foot class A RV. After a long hard look at it and coming to terms with it needs more work then it will ever be worth. 21,000 miles on it with a 454 400 turbo. Even though the 350 and 350 turbo runs great...I am planning on dropping that combo into the truck.

I got to do some body rust repair. But it will be ok. This is going to be a sow going project.

Re: Back with a new project...84 Chevy Custom Deluxe 1/2 ton

Worked on it a little today. The drivers door window wouldnt roll up or down. Turns out the window was out of track. They rolled it up without trying to line the window back up. Ruined the rubber in the track on the vent side. I replaced the vent and that is now fixed. Replaced the wiper blades and since I didnt have a set of keys for the door locks...replaced those too.

Definitely a combination of parts from both eras of square bodies. Looks like a neat truck. Have you moved forward with your engine and transmission swap?
