Guy here in town is trying to sell me a running gear out of a 1970 blazer. Springs, front and rear diff's,(3.73) non-posi,th350 and what he says is a dana 20 transfer. How do I identify it? I remember my 70 had a funny semi circular shift pattern for the 4 wheel drive, but there is no shifter that I am aware of on this rig. ANy help? His old blazer was an 307, th350,ps and pb.moodyholler

if its a stock blazer case it should be a 205 if you go to advanced adaptors web site they have the best transfer case identification page Ive ever seen.

My Dana 20 says "Dana 20" on the back...just to the right of the rear drive shaft.....if I remember correctly.

But like Earl said, if it was factory auto TH350 and true 1970, it should have a NP205

look on the back side in the middle. if there is a round cover withe 3 bolts in it its a 205. should be about 2" round or so

The NP205 sshuld have a plate on it also. They are bigger than the Dana 20 as well. If it was an original TH350, I believe it should be the 205. Dana 20s were put behind the 3 speed column shifts, but Chevy wasn't overy consistant with these trucks so it could be anything.
