conversion kit for 203 t case

has any one put in one of the conversoin kits for the 203 transfer case to make it part time. if so how hard was it. and what is the shift pattern. i have a 203 and only the manual hubs, so after a stuck i have to get out and lock them in. i would prefer to lock the hubs in first the shift form 2wd to 4wd after a stuck like a 205.

The 203 is full time unless it has been converted with a kit. It's not supposed to be good on it to run it with manual hubs unlocked. Are you running it in 4wd locked? Also your hubs should be locked and ready before you get stuck.I don't have the kit,I was also wondering how well they work.

I have a 77 GMC with the 203 case. The milemarker kit is easy to instale. If you don't use a kit of this type, the transfer will still be in 4 wheel drive. There are parts in the transfer that have to be changed. As far as the shift pattern, it stayes the same.
I have made the change for more miles per gallan. It didn't make it any better. On a wet road it's hard to start out with spinning the tires, And it seemes that I'm allways to late to put it back in 4 wheel drive.
It is a good kit, but I my self will be putting mine back to full time.
It may help you and I am not trying to talk you or any one out of it.
Thank you,
hlm47
