Best car pressure washers
Guys, what car washer do you use? And which one is the best? Why?

Re: Best car pressure washers
We use a Generac gas pressure washer, and have a series of tips and a Foaming Lance attachment. Made in USA (locally in WI for me), had a nice warranty and was well built. Not a cheap unit tho. The foaming lance was another ~$75
We use the "low" pressure tip (still much higher than hose pressure) to remove loose crap and clean the wheels. I have satin paint on my 66 so I don't like to rub it when washing. We switch to the foam lance to coat/wash the body, then switch back to the nozzle to rinse clean.

Re: Best car pressure washers
None, I do not recommend using a pressure washer for washing vehicles. Maybe if it is something you don't care about.

Re: Best car pressure washers
I have an inexpensive Ryobi electric power washer and a cheap Amazon-sourced foam cannon. I got about the same money in both that most pay for just the Chemical Guys cannon and it works just as well. And yes, I've used both.
I bought the Ryobi unit because it's small, electric, not too powerful/too much pressure and I can store it on a shelf when not in use. Unlike my huge Honda-powered pressure washer that is, well, a pain in the butt to use for something as quick as a car wash. |

Re: Best car pressure washers
I have an older Troy built gas model. It has served me for about 10 years now. Picked it up on sale at Lowes when I first got it. I am getting ready to dig it out for it's late (as normal 4 me) cleanup, test before I pressure wash the house and shop.

Re: Best car pressure washers
Than you haven't met many car or boat detailers. The low pressure nozzles and foam lances do not run the same psi as the thing you'd use to blast dirt off of concrete. The foam lance is specifically for cars.

Re: Best car pressure washers
I wonder how many paint jobs have been ruined by pressure washers? I had a buddy who had a pretty nice 4 speed V8 Vega back in the 80s. It was smooth but he decided to use the pressure washer and, well, once it started lifting, he stripped most of the entire car. It wasn't his paint work though. That thing sure did scoot too.

Re: Best car pressure washers
Worx has a battery powered hand held prowerwasher called the hydroshot. Puts out 320 psi just enough power to help with bugs ect but not destroy anything.
