The cluster you have is the same I have in my '91. They're typically called "moonie" clusters. Mid-year 1991 they switched from the moonies to the needle clusters, which were available with and without a tach. You can swap to the needle cluster. I believe a '91 needle cluster would be a direct swap, but '92-'94 clusters take a bit more work.

Personally, I've always kinda liked the moonies. I like the fact that it keeps registering speed past 85. I put some blue LEDs in mine:

Well, you pull your cluster out and have this...

Each of the 5 individual gauges are held on by torx screws. Remove them so you can pull the gauges off...

Inside, you will see 5 194-style bulbs that provide the primary illumination of the cluster. Remove those and replace them with some LEDs of your choice of colors and configurations. I buy my LEDs from Super Bright LEDs. I use the HP5s that give an array of 5 highpower SMD LEDs. At nearly $6 each, they're not exactly cheap, but they give a nice, bright, even illumination. I have tried many different setups over the years and I have found the HP5s to do the best job of illuminating the cluster smoothly and evenly as well as being bright enough.

I have the same blue HP5 LEDs in my Suburban cluster as well...

They are dimmable. The '96-'98 clusters take 6 bulbs for the primary illumination.

Re: 1988-1998 Reg. Cab Shortbeds

It's probably not the look you're going for, but I really like the patina on that truck. I'd drop it, pull the decals and stainless trim off, and roll it like that.

Thanks! I like the patina myself. You can see where I started removing the stainless (door). It is a pain in the arse to remove all of the adhesive.

Re: 1988-1998 Reg. Cab Shortbeds

Heres mine,92 rcsb. Keeping her primmered for a while until I'm completely finished. She's bagged sitting on 24's. Going to do the 98 interior upgrade. I really want to do 2005 interior or newer upgrade, but that will take allot of thinking and time...oh and money?! Going to do a mayjor powereplant upgrade soon. TBI, Intake, Headers, and hopefully cam. Thanks for looking.

Dumped

I want to raise the inside of the bed so that it sits flat over the c-notch and tub the rear all in. Also I can have true duals that dump in front of rear axel. Have to do something with that fuel tank though....

Welcome to the board. Man that thing is low.

Edit: just noticed the black billet grille; I really like that. I had one that met an unfortunate end.
