How would you do the Brake Link?

Most of everyone that done the disk brake swap has run into this,,, I've seen a number of ways other have dealt with the brake linkage.. I'm guessing it mostly depends on the booster you put in..
The 66 had just the brake plunger that went into the master.. Once a booster gets placed behind the master cylinder the plunger is no longer there and it turns into a Link.
I placed a Cardone Unit in the truck and hooked up the brake link with a 7/16-20 shaft and a clivet to connect to the new booster arm ,, Like the one in the pic below.
The problem I'm running into is when I push on the brake the union between the booster and the brake link bends at a angle instead of pushing directly into the booster.. that union turns left,, right,, up,, down before it pushes.
How did other correct that issue?

You can not have a pivot in the middle of the booster pushrod. That eye needs to be cut off and welded to the original pushrod, once the correct length is determined. If welding is not an option, both ends can be threaded and a coupling nut used, or a sleeve and pin used.

I have used, and like very much, Captainfab's idea of cutting off the eye and threading the bare rod--works great when using coupling nut with additional rod to zero in on the exact length needed.

Dealt with the same problem,
ended up cutting the eye off and welded a long connecting nut onto the end.
Then bought a 4" G8 bolt, cut the head off and welded that inline to the old push rod.

Then it is just a matter of dialing in the length when I get the system primed.
