Re: 05 airbag lite on

the 441 code is an emissions code. Seems the air bag might have an issue with the plug behind the drivers side kick panel?

Re: 05 airbag lite on

You cant pull an airbag code from the ecm you need to get into the airbag module and pull the code stored in there.

Re: 05 airbag lite on

try wiggling the airbag harness under the driver side seat, see if the light goes off, every GM with an air bag light on ive had, it seemed there was a bad contact with that harness. its probably not whats makingyour light come on, but its a free diagnosis.

Re: 05 airbag lite on

Has he had an accident, was the truck wrecked ? If he bought the truck new and the answer is no, you might be able to get the dealer to take care of it under warranty (worth asking about). If it has been hit and was covered by insurance, then if they can deem it wreck related the insurance should pay to fix it. Just a few options. James

Re: 05 airbag lite on

check the harness from the sensor under the seat. It goes from the sensor to underneath the sill plate then to a connector behind the kick panel. I have run into some that the wire has corroded or broken under the sill plate because dirt and moisture stays under the sill plate and eventually corrodes the wire harness. However getting the code would help narrow down your problem.

Re: 05 airbag lite on

I just had that problem with my 05 Suburban Z71. I had to replace a sensor in the front bumper for $75.
