Smile '61 C-40 Parting out

A VERY solid California truck. No engine or trans. No center hood emblem (sold), hood trim inserts very good & intact, along with the park light assemblies. I have some pics. somewhere.

Inquire with your needs.

Thanks, Rick

p.s. I'm in central Nevada.

Rick, would you happen to know if a C-40 cab would fit on a 1/2 ton frame? I'm not familiar with the C-40, does it look like a regular pickup? What is that, a one ton?

Thanx
Toddro

I'm not 100% positive.........but I believe it will go on the 1/2 ton frame. It is a 1.5 ton truck. The cab looks the same as a 1/2 ton. The front fenders have larger wheel cutouts I believe. This has 19.5" wheels. I have pics of the truck that I can post or e-mail.

Do you want the whole oval insert that goes in the hood (which are perfect, btw), or just the plastic lenses???

Ahhhh........ I suppose these are not priced cheap enough ? I just saw a '60 hood today..........and by the looks of them, the '60 is a one year only, and the '61 is a one year only for these hood inserts. The BowTie hood emblem appears the same for both years. This hood/parts truck I saw had the bowtie emblem also. There is no sense in anyone asking me about it, as I know that nobody would want to pay what this man wants for it.

All the parts for everything are out there. Finding them is not real hard. I guess I look at things in a feeble kind of way. To me.......a part for an antique, or classic vehicle, is worth more than one for a new vehicle. New vehicle parts, you can buy all day long. They are usually lotsa money, and real easy to come by. How many do you want? Anyone want to guess what a door, hood or fender costs for my 2001 Lightning ? Guess what, you can buy as many as you want to.........all day long.

As most of you know, a 5 year old car in the rust belt is junk for parts. When was the last time anyone in the rust belt saw a 1961 truck that you couldn't throw a cat through ? I own my 1937 GMC here.............that has no rust at all, 22,000 original miles.

OK...........I'm done now. Have a nice day!

P.S. I don't feel bad at all when I take a sledgehammer to an old part, and take it to the dump. Nobody wants to pay for it.........adios old parts.

BTW : As far as I know, Nobody reproduces the '60-'61 Hood emblems, or park light trims.

park light ovals

I am interested in the park light ovals. The ovals that are in the hood I think are 1960 because the 1960 has vertically louvered bezels and the 61 has a wing design bezel. I live in Bassett Virginia 24055. Will you find out how much shipping will be and give me your address I will send you a cashier's check or money order which ever you perfer.

Thank You,
Tommy

Great !!!!! I'm glad they got there in one piece. Odd shaped things can be a pain to pack.

Thanks for the business !!!!!

Happened to see a pic of you tow truck where you had mentioned the 19.5 wheels. If you still have them, are they 8 lug? Split rim ? In good shape, etcc. Thanks, for your time. Anthony "Oldtintin"

There are only 5 wheels. That's all that I got with it when I bought it. I'm not sure if they're split or not? I'm positive that packing & shipping/ dismounting, would be very, very expensive.
