'O2 S-10 engine siezed.

I bought this truck,sight unseen,for $200. (2200 Vin 5 engine)
They told me the engine was siezed, and it has a couple of minor issues, that I'm not too worried about.
My question,is this,Should I get the rebuild kit($400),or another engine?
I'm on a budget,so I need to save as much as possible.
What are the odds it's a head,or crankshaft ?
I'm not that familiar with these trucks, but I liked the price.

Another engine, find a local salvage yard. There are good runners out there.

None have any S10's,but I got a head from a '99 Cavalier,with 34k on it,for $80.

Re: 'O2 S-10 engine siezed.

Been a while,since my post.
Got the engine freed up,and turning over.
Checked the rod,and main bearings, and found no damage,or bad wear.
Timing chain/tensioner is within specs .
Pulled the head ,and found cyls 1 & 2 have crescent shaped holes, near the valves, causing the coolant leak.
PO stated they used E-85,to save $$.
It's supposed to be a "Flex-fuel"engine,but it looks like detonation damage, but the piston tops are normal.
Piston clearance is right on the money, and no sign of scoring on the walls.
QUESTION:
Is this engine noted for head problems?
