Interesting find yesterday
I recently decided to clean up the old pump house that was from when my land was a farm. Clean up meaning pulling the rubble out . Found some heavy iron at the bottom . Turned out to be a Ralph B Carter water pump from the early 1900s it's now safely in the barn. The Emerson electric motor looks to be a newer addition

Re: Interesting find yesterday
That is so cool! Looks like a small version of a Cornish walking beam pump. You must, if able, try to make it live again!

It's amazing but it still turns not frozen . Googled the company it's still in business but I'm sure they wont have parts.

Re: Interesting find yesterday
I bet that electric motor is 100% rebuildable, too. Very neat piece of history there

Re: Interesting find yesterday
Interesting find. I have an old schoolhouse built in the 30's that still has all the pump apparatus in the well house. I haven't looked at it in years. I need to check it out.

Re: Interesting find yesterday
My old shop was on a farm that also used to sell seed and fertilizer. My stalls were feed and seed bins with 2" dbl t&g walls. At the one end was a scale house and scale pad. The pad was a great level surface for frame work, fab, and such. The old scale was all there ready to use, was how it looked. There was also a well with an old working hand pump. The property sold and I hope somebody saved that stuff
