1964 LWB Fleetside build, STARTED!

Well, after having the truck for almost 2 years now Im just now starting to tear it down for a rebuild. Plan is 3in Z in the front, with 83 model disk brake front end, 2 1/2 in drop spindles, and a SD 4link out back, with a 9in. Bags are slam specialties. Truck will lay frame when Im done. Keeping the 230 6cyl and putting a 200R4 behind it. Truck needs some body work, but not too too bad. This will be a long build as my job calls me away at any time and I stay pretty busy.

Thats the worst part of the bed, going to take a lot of work.

Both corners of the hood have mud.

Both fenders are rotted and full of bondo. One side even was full of steel wool under the bondo!

Both doors have been swung open too far, Ive got 2 dent free doors.

230 still runs like a top!

Wiring will be fun!

Heres how it sits today.

And the steelwool/bondo!

More to come as it gets done!

Mine has the same dent in the same place on the passenger side bed. They must be distant twins.

I wonder why they choose steel wool?

Been a while since I bumped the thread. Ive got current pix Ill post tomorrow. I moved the truck to a friends shop, and am ready to pull the cab off as soon as work permits. Found the usual rust in the floorpans so that will need to be addressed. Frame/suspension is first. Will upload pix tomorrow.
