Radiator support fit
Have a new radiator I ordered from Brothers Trucks but it is not fitting well. Seems the X brace is preventing the radiator flange from being flush with the support.
Now I've seen plenty of pictures w this X brace around... but plenty of pictures with it missing. The original radiator obviously fit. There any downside to cutting out the X part of the support? There a pattern/reason why some supports have this? Or has everyone else cut them out too? I have a build thread going here also..... http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...80#post7919680

Re: Radiator support fit
my 49 did not have the x brace, in fact I have had a few and none have. I think its an added piece.
you can always move it out some at the bottom if you want to keep it though.

Re: Radiator support fit
The radiator I bought from superior was for LS engines and fit perfectly but my accessories did not. So I cut out the x-brace and removed the tabs on radiator, moved the radiator forward and still need to reweld the aluminum tabs to my aluminum radiator. It's tight as hell under the hood every inch counts!

Re: Radiator support fit
Thanks for the info! Looks like the X brace has to go!

Re: Radiator support fit
Mine had the X brace in it when I got the truck. I used a Walker rad with AC condensor attached, brace was it the way, so out it came.
Couple pic...Jim
