Re: I like stock 72 's - Especially Supers

The good old internet and $$$.
You can make anything show up.

When I was talking to the truck drivers wife she asked me

"Do you like Chevy trucks? My brother has gone to prison.
My mom has a 2 of his Chevy's at her house, we need to get rid of"

Yes I like chevy trucks. When do you get home.

"Probably tomorrow after we drop off these other cars."

Ok I'll see you tomorrow

I think they are square bodies. But I know one is a shortbed.
And the other is a 4x4

I'm sure that is worth an afternoon looksy

Anyway, a little elbow grease, and this thing should take a shine

Looks awesome! Dark olive green I think. Just like my Super shorty, but yours has the upper trim. Any interior pics?

Man. You guys notice everything. I went back and looked closer. The driver fender has been replaced at some point. I can see blue beneath the green. It looks like they maybe used a 69-70 fender and put the super emblem where the motor size would have been. The passenger side super is in the correct area.

Yep. Dark olive. A bit less refined than yours.
Can you too, post up a spid picture. I'm curious what it looks like, not having the upper molding, being it was standard on supers.

This truck has green interior
Did yours come with black?

Your truck is beautiful!

I'll be on the lookout for wood interior trim parts on the board that are driver quality. To replace most of the rough ones this one has on it now.

Nice.
I'd pull the carpet, get new or hose it down, and fix any (hopefully surface) rust in the floor. Looks like you already rubbed out the paint.
Eventually a new steering wheel and its done...

Thanks. I had a peek at your build. Big block shortbed. Doesn't get much better than that. Have fun with it. There's that black/white one right now on eBay that looks just like yours from the factory, but with small block.
I'm pretty partial to 72's. I'll probably die, still looking for that unrestored Cheyenne super big block shortbed. Hell I won't even be picky about the color

Like I told you, my wife might kill me.
She calls it "her truck"

I know you collect these trucks like I do
There's not one I don't want

Here's a funny story

When I was signing on to this sight
I was talking to her about what should my name be?
Since I wanted to have a pickup in every color
I said how about "Rainbow"
She said you're crazy
I said I know we are from California, but I'm straight
I think it will be ok

I slept on it. And decided

Ha, yeah, we're a bit nosey! Very cool and glad it's indeed a YE9, that's all that matters. Interesting no int trim RPO listed. Would assume it either came with dark olive or parchment houndstooth as the only other option on a Super with a bench was blue. Have had olive houndstooth on two of mine, certainly one of my faves. Congrats again on a very cool tour yuck. Shorty Supers with PO1 caps are pretty darn sweet.

Thanks, I love the green interior on yours. I don't have the SPID unfortunately. All my interior trim is black.

You mentioned above upper moulding was standard on Supers. Are you sure? I'm pretty sure mine is a real super, but don't have any doc. It has the rear cab light.

yes, upper trim is standard on supers. cargo light was standard on cheyenne and super but could be had on any truck. my old boss had a plain jane 70 K10 with a cargo light.

Re: I like stock 72 's - Especially Supers

My curiosity IS when a cheyenne super came from the factory without upper or lower trim, was it shown as a delete on the spid? Since both upper and lower trim were standard on supers.

I have Cheyenne trucks, whenever they have upper trim, it is listed on the spid. The lower trim is not because it was standard equipment on cheyennes.
