Never seen the one you have until I just found the pic of the alleged argentina gate. Interesting. I like it!

Borrowed the pics of course from others on here
Thanks for the pics 67c10....

Yes it does resemble the Argentina one especially the handles that open the tailgate........

I wonder if GM purposely made tailgates different from country to country...... Would be good to find out....

I checked out your pics of the tailgate, I can't help you out at all. I sure hope someone in your neck of the woods who reads this forum can help you out. Good luck!

Nice truck mate. Congrats. Definitely subscribed to this thread.

Do have some questions and a favour to ask.

You mention it's a 3sp column shift truck. When it was converted to RHD, did they swap gearboxes to one with the cover/linkage mounts on the right-hand side? or did they use the original box with left side cover/mounts?

If it's still the gearbox with the left side cover/mounts, could I impose on you to take photo's of the entire linkage system? How the rods connect to the gearbox, how they connect to the column - and most importantly, how they cross-over from the column on the right of the truck, to the gearbox cover on the left.

I recently purchased fellow forum member Leadfoot-Vanners factory RHD '67.

It too was an original 3spd column shift vehicle but was converted to floor shift many moons ago, and unfortunately the rods & linkages for the column set-up are long gone.

Ideally I'd like to revert it back to column, but would love to get an idea on how they crossed the linkages over - from right side to left side. It' easy enough for me to grab a local 3spd GM box with the cover plate on the right, but if the current gearbox is fine and in good working order, I'd prefer to spend my limited money on things that actually need it.

Appreciate any help you can give. Best of luck with the build mate.

Cheers!

Thanks Russ and apologies for the delayed reply.

I will be glad to assist in anyway.

From my limited knowledge on these trucks and conversions and from what I can see everything is left intact and original except for the linkages which run from the left to the right, I will take pictures for you regarding the setup and if you need more I will be happy to take.

I will post them on the forum and also if you wish you can send me a PM with your email address and I can send these pictures over to you.

Cheers
Zubz

thanks for welcome, yes and also a member found out the tailgate is Argentina as well as the mountings. looks like they mixed and matched for our trucks. it would be nice if we could compose pictures with all the differences from a US, Mexico, Argentina and SA spec trucks.

Hi Emilio, thank you for posting pictures of your truck, very unique, well to me anyway.

Few questions, I notice your truck has (a) different tail-lights, (b) door mirrors look different to our models, not sure of US spec, (c) front bumper has over-riders, is this standard for US models also or is this specific to Argentina, (d) i notice your truck has head rests on the seat, is this standard also ?

Thanks
Zubz

Re: 1970 C10 - Dream come true - Project "The Rebirth"

Ok, let's go by parts:

A) The taillights are for the 60-66 model USA, Here in Argentina came those taillights until 1973

B)Mirrors can put my dad, are 83-87 model, but originally was bringing these:

http://www.classicindustries.com/tru...ts/cx1165.html
http://www.classicindustries.com/tru...ts/cx1146.html

C) What brings the bumper, is an optional accessory

http://www.classicindustries.com/tru...ts/cx1692.html

I hope you understand what I wrote, you have any questions, ask me again
