new project

hello everyone
I'm new to this board, looks like a great place to hang out. I just bought a 71 short bed project. This will be my second truck project. My last truck project was about 10 years ago with a 79 stepside and I just gave up on my 53 belair, lost steam on that one.

I have a question for you guys. The truck I bought is a project that has changed hands a couple of times. It looks like the front and rear coil springs are after market and would like to know if anybody has a set of dropped springs on the shelf and can give me a measerment of the unloaded spring height so I can get some kind of idea as to what spings these are. 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, inch drops?

Welcome from Sunny Southern California.
Wished I could help with the springs but I am sure someone else here can.

I know the front spring measures at 10 1/4" (that's a 3 in. drop).

Hope it helps, and Welcome from Nevada!

Welcome from Las Vegas!... The length of the spring as well as the spring rate will change the ride height.
