Made a little progress today after the "grind session" I managed to get the motor back in the truck. I hope to get the intake painted next weekend and a few other parts that didn't make it this go around. Now that the motors in I can now start installing some parts and make some progress!

BTW.... I actually worked on my stuff today. The motor has been degreased & taped up. I'll acid etch it tomorrow am & get a coat of POR15 on it hopefully by lunch time. Sorry.... no slicked out intake for me.

I still have to get the accessory brackets cleaned, 'deburred', & ready to go. Then there's the air cleaner, I need bolts, & I need . . ............

I have fond memories of the old chevy 6's with dual pipes and packs. Stick or auto they sounded good. Headers aren't necessary for a good sound either. With your finned aluminum covers I can only imagine how good it'll look when you get the rest of the parts on it. Let's see....a 4.10 gear and 700R4 should make her get up.

No that one is a 62 the one on the chassis table is a 55. We also have a 60 wagon and a 61 wagon......we like Ramblers

I am about ready to order the wheels for my 71, which has the same setup as yours [drop spindles and bags]. I will be running 18s in the front, 20s in the rear. Anyway, how come you are going with so much BS on the front? I am guessing that 20s require more BS that 18s. Based on what I have seen on other trucks pictured here, I have planned on running 18x8s with 4" of BS to have some lip on the front rims.

Well, there .5 inches wider than the 8's plus I like to tuck the wheel as far in as I can so I have a little more turning radius. Plus I just like the way it looks.

Turning radius is a good thing. The few 67-72s I have seen with the 2" narrower MII setups look good, super tucked.

When all the air is released from your air bags is your crossmember on the ground? I like the look of you drop and what I am trying to figure out is with the front crossmember the ground, the bolt in style notch with offer enough drop for what I am trying to accomplish.

Progress real slow this week due to my work schedule. I did however finish making my fan spacer, installed the radiator and shroud and started mounting the brackets for the alt. and p/s. With any luck I should have the starter and intake painted by the end of next week.....I should have never started this

Ah, c'mon buddy hang in there. It's only a small can of worms that you have opened up. I have personally seen you turn a simple project into a much bigger mess before and not think twice about it. I know these days you prefer to talk your dumb butt friends into falling off the deep end with a project. It looks like this time the bug bit you....

Looks like you guys have been busy. Thanks for keeping us updated! I love that valve cover! Makes me wish I would have kept my 250 rather than swapping out to the new mild 350.

What will you do with all the extra space under the hood? A guy could probably mount a portable 12 volt cooler to keep the beer cold.

Made a little progress on the 68. I've spent the last couple nights grinding the intake and exhaust getting them ready for paint and plating. It may not look like much but trust me, those things were rough!

The big news is that my wheels came in today! Now all I need to do is get the tires mounted and then the truck can roll again!

The manifolds look looks really nice. That exhaust is going to look killer once it's coated.

I have wheel envy now. I think it's time for a fresh set on blackie...
