1.77 60ft

I was really Impressed yesterday I cut a 1.777 60 ft 8.06 in the 1/8 on a poorly prepped track with track prep applied on my tires and bunch of people push down on my truck when I launched, its just a cam and bolt on 6.0 makes 370 to the wheel, with a 4l80e tight 3600stall, factory big 10 suspension "8 pack 56"springs", cut coil up front, no front sway bar, beltec drop shocks, and nt555r at 9 psi, but I ran the same time when I cut a 1.84 60 ft, back in the summer I was e/t streets the best 60 was a 1.91, with 8.40 1/8

Re: 1.77 60ft

Good deal.

Tried finding info in your build thread.

Was the 370rwhp with the converter locked or unlocked?

Where does the motor make peak TQ? Get your converter re-stalled to that rpm or even 200rpm past, and I bet you go quite a bit faster in the 60'

Re: 1.77 60ft

I believe unlocked, the stall is a yank pro multi disk 258mm, I called yank and they said it cant be re stalled, but I'm switching to a single disk pi 3600, caltacs, slicks, and a 150 shot

Re: 1.77 60ft

Do you lock the verter going down the strip? If not, try locking it in 2nd right after peak TQ. When I had an 80E it picked up roughly 3.5mph and .1-.15 ET on motor when doing so. I bet on the hose it would have show even better gains.

Why are you going to swap a multidisk for a single? Reason I ask is from what I understand the multidisk will have better clamping force than the single. If you are going to spray it and lock it, keep the multi disk!

I'd keep the yank, re-stall it to 4,500 and let it rip both on the motor and on the bottle.

Re: 1.77 60ft

I called yank and they said they can't re-stall it, the guy told be the stall is made for towing in a 3/4 with turbo or supercharger, but I like to have the lock up on toggle switch

Re: 1.77 60ft

If you use the generally accepted conversion of...

(1/8 ET + 0.22)/ 0.655

Your 1/4 mile is mid 12.6s Pretty respectable and much better then I'd expect for a stock 6.0 in a full size (even set up very well).

And....
if the optimum 60' time = 0.12 * 1/4 mile et + 0.17 (and using the 12.64 from above)

A kick butt sixty would be 1.6anything. The 1.tripple seven on anything but a slick is impressive.

Kudos,, on a combination that is very well done!

Re: 1.77 60ft

thanks, I never thought this truck was going to run this well with the few mods I have, I have knocked off a full second from my first time out, I ran a 2.18 60ft, 8.95 1/8 82, 13.74 at 98,with hooking on street tires, stock convertor, and a mail order tune

Guess a 1.686 on a bfg drag radial is really good then. Didn' t mean to steal the thread. Those are a real improvement. I remember what I ran with my sbc. Ran a best ever of 13.25 @ almost 104. Going 11's really surprised me. Anyway, good luck and keep it up!

Re: 1.77 60ft

got the converter swapped and a new fuel pump my old one would drop down to 38, cut another 1.77 60 ft barley stalling the truck up with much thicker air than before with a 8.2 1/8, got the nitrous kit installed just needs colder plugs and a tune going start small with a 75 shot

Re: 1.77 60ft

Aaron, play around with launch technique. Some times off idle to wide open transitions cut better 60's than stalling up on the converter as far as possible.

Put the n20 kit on a WOT switch, leave off idle and let it rip. shutting off right after the stripe and coast to a stop. Pull a plug and put a replacement in. Cut it open in the pits and take a good look at it. Adjust AFR as needed.

Re: 1.77 60ft

I'm going to the track today so I'll mess around with launching on motor, my tuner is going to do a nitrous tune, but I'll see if he can go to the track when I do the first nitrous pass

Re: 1.77 60ft

Aaron,

I would not worry too much about changing anything in the tune if you are only spraying 75. Put a TR6 plug in it and call it a day. Once you start spraying 100+ then definately start pulling a little timing.

What kit are you using?
