Re: Brothers Truck Parts

Having just purchased my first C10, I decided to order parts from brothers as it seemed to be the best out there, I made two orders for around $300. I wanted postage to England, put in my address etc and it gave me a shipping quote, which was quite low I will admit, anyhow I thought they would get back to me and give me a revised shipping cost overseas, which would have been ok. I assume they ship overseas? I submitted the two orders and they took my money via PayPal.

1 month later.... No parts,no emails,no shipping quote........
I've called, got put on hold... (international $$$$$$!!) told that he was going to put it on his bosses desk.....still heard nothing.....
Emailed numerous times.......no reply

So filed a PayPal dispute......no reply
So filed a PayPal claim.....we will see.....

At this stage I just want my money back as I'll be in the U.S. Next month anyway so I can collect parts myself.

I can't believe that a big company with a fancy website has such terrible service!!

I guess I'll never use them again.....

Waynesworld - We take customer service issues very seriously and I don't know yet how the order slipped through the cracks but I assure you I will find out.

Re: Brothers Truck Parts

Thank you John for sorting my problem out! Seems there was a mix up with the shipping!

Would recommend contacting them first for international shipping prior to ordering in the future.

Cheers,

Danny

Re: Brothers Truck Parts

I'm disappointed with Brothers. I purchased some parts from Brothers and Ecklers in the beginning of December. I had all of my parts from Ecklers within 2 weeks, I have only received a small fraction of my order from Brothers to date, and have sent several emails inquiring about the rest of my order. I have not gotten any response from them. My final email requested a refund for the cost of the unsent items, and still have gotten no response. I contemplated not posting this, but I felt like I needed to share this so others will be aware. This is over $1000 in parts, so not a small amount of money.

Re: Brothers Truck Parts

Picked up a large order in-person today from Brothers. I confirmed my entire order was in stock twice before I left San Diego, yet one item was backordered when I got there. That was a little frustrating. Nevertheless the folks onsite were very friendly, and offered to ship the backordered item for free. They even loaded all my items into the trailer for me.

Re: Brothers Truck Parts

First time posting.
Yeah I also have had problems with Brother's. I bought applicable CCP control arms and swaybar from them. Control arms were great other than forgetting to send included ball joints. They took care of that right away no hassle. "But" when I received the sway bar. I could tell there might be a problem. But didnt know for sure untill I did the install. I sent email to Josh. I felt I was treated as an incompetent mechanic. He sent me a video to install a sway bar. Which wasnt even close to the product they sell, as far as the sway bar.
Well on the install. Well.... was quick to see I was right! To short. Promptly called Brothers to return and inform them of the're product complications with the CCp control arms. They checked my item for comparability. It eas right, as far as the're part numbers were concerned. Was going to get me a UPS lable for return. Well its been 5 emails 6 phone calls I still have this useless part to me. They still have my money. Josh and others have been no help. Pluss im out my they charged me selling me incompatible part. I will never buy from them again. Pluss I called CCP sent me the right sway bar right away. Cheaper and faster. I dont know why I didnt orde streight from them in the first place.

Re: Brothers Truck Parts

I wont shop at Brother either. I was searching for an original style antenna for my 72 K5 and they had advertised that the antenna they sell is the exact same as an original.. It was clearly not. It was the same universal one that LMC carries and everyone else.

I took it off since and am in search of an original. If anyone know where I can get one please let me know.

I included pic of the order invoice. It say "original style Telescoping Mast

Thanks,
Mike

Re: Brothers Truck Parts

Looks like I’m not only one either,I know mistakes happen but when you have a company this big you would think customer service would be better, I ordered a cab mount kit for my 72 Cheyenne pickup as well as radiator support mount kit,got them in the mail and opened box all I had was a cab mount kit with no radiator support kit at all. But invoice showed both were boxed and singed off with a signature across invoice. I thought maybe it was on backorder so went back and looked at email and both were in stock when I placed order. So I decided to go ahead and install my cab mounts to find out I didn’t have all the washers I needed and no sleeves to go in bushings. I thought maybe their kit didn’t come with them so I went and looked at other places who sold kits and all kits showed all hardware including the bushing sleeves. I should have ordered kit from somewhere else being I thought this was everything I needed. this isn’t first problem I’ve had from them and I don’t like to bash company’s but it gets old and just amazes me that a company this big has so many mistakes. I’m going to call first thing tomorrow to see about getting my radiator support mount kit I was missing. Needless to say I’m done with ordering from them again.

Re: Brothers Truck Parts

I received an order yesterday that was going to allow some shop time on the truck this weekend which can be hard to come by. I was excited until I opened the box to find damaged and rusted parts. So much for working on the truck this weekend! I suppose Brothers could respond to my customer service complaint email and overnight the replacement parts to me by Friday...It could happen, it's only Wednesday. We will see.

I don't want to complaint too much because I just sent the email to their customer service address moments ago, BUT this error has bummed me out. I ordered parts from Summit, Redhead Steering Gears, and Brothers all on the same day. A few days to a week goes by and communications and delivery from the other two companies is complete...Brothers sent a UPS delivery email right away, but it took over a week to arrive. No big deal ,but the parts are bad. How long before I get parts and how long before I have a free weekend to put them on? I'm not happy. Hopefully they will do me right and repair part of their reputation with me.

Re: Brothers Truck Parts

I don't have much patience for this kinda $h**! It's been over 24 hours and no response to the courteous email that I sent regarding their shortcomings.+

About $50 for the rusty bracket and $110 for the bent battery tray!

Here are the facts in picture form...

Over 48 hours and no return contact from them. It's not looking good.

Re: Brothers Truck Parts

It’s always been hit and miss for me with Brothers as well...

Can’t you just paint that bracket It’s only surface rust, and I’d paint it before installing anyways, regardless if there was any or not.

Battery trays are flimsy by design, just bend it back and you are good to go.

While I wouldn’t be thrilled to open a box and see the parts looking that way, it certainly wouldn’t prevent me from using them and working on my truck for a whole weekend.

Re: Brothers Truck Parts

Yeah, I'm sure the parts will get used as it has been several days now and brothers does not seem to be interested in fixing the problem. Maybe. I'll call them and see if they have received my email. Either way, this experience has been a testament to their concern for their customers. Good thing the money spent was minimal and salvageable.

EDIT: I called brothers and with nothing more that a minute of explanation of the bent tray and rusty bracket...they are sending new parts, no charge. Lesson learned - their customer service email address must not be the proper channels to file a complaint. I can't wait to get the parts and see how they are. Until next time...

Re: Brothers Truck Parts

I messaged John here on this thread and low and behold, he called me about my issue. He was very accommodating and worked with me to get the parts I needed. I was leary about buying from them because of this thread but they had what I needed, it was in stock too. Anyway, shout out to John@Brothers for his help.

Re: Brothers Truck Parts

Well, the replacement parts arrived in no time. The new battery tray was bent as well, but not as bad so I bent it back, and the new bracket was rusted too. I did not fight the machine...I sand blasted it and painted it. All is well in the end and I will look somewhere else next time.

Re: Brothers Truck Parts

Sent them 3 emails over the last week about the shipment quote to confirm. No reply yet. I agree with the above comments about poor customer service. The reason sending this email was that a lot of people warned about styles being on back-order or not being sent due to wrong freight charges on order(especially for international). and people had big time trying to get a refund!
