79 Glastron Carlson CVX 16 SS

Picked up another project.

Its a 1979 Glastron Carlson CVX 16 SS. Has a mercuiser 140 (chevy 4-cyl). Already have done a ton of work to it, but hoping to get it to the river in Sept (2018).

Enjoy!

I like older Glastrons. That's a cool boat.

I've been halfway looking for a late 80s 236GX like the one from Weekend at Bernie's.

I have since worked on it and cleaned it up, cleared it and rebuilt the motor.

Re: 79 Glastron Carlson CVX 16 SS

Great looking boat and a great engine, too! I have the same motor in my '87 Bayliner. As you may know, the 3.0L/181 c.i. 4-banger Chevy motor is a stroker version of the old 2.5L/150 c.i. base engine offered in the old Chevy II / Novas of the 1960s. As such, many parts not specific to marine use will interchange, saving lots of money-- fuel filters, oil filter, gaskets, etc. Not carbs, ignition, etc., though; better use marine on that or risk going "boom"!

The lines on that boat are just classic. Good on you for keeping her alive!
