Cruise Control

Need a picture from someone of the bar(or cable?)that goes between the cruise control servo, and the throttle linkage. Also, is the junkyard the best place to find the aforementioned part? On mine the eyelet part on the servo is broken open and it no longer an eyelet, and nothing is attached at the throttle linkage end. Any help is appreciated!

I haven't bought any mechanical part from a yard in forever, most likely wont again either, too much bad luck. There are a few guys in your area that have Suburbans on Craigslist (in the parts section, I just looked) that have cruise, since the part you need isn't in the column I think you could get it for super cheap from one of them. Maybe hit them up and see what they say. Blazers and trucks should have the same part too if someone is closer.

Wasn't even thinking about craigslist. That's a better idea than the yard.

As far as the picture....the only part that is broken is the eyelet like piece that is on the servo itself. What ever attaches to that eyelet is whats missing completely.

I never really got good mileage when using cruise on my Suburbans, so I totally stopped using it. Plus I'm sure where someone lives plays a lot to do with it too, flat roads around here are not too common. Anyway...

The part new only costs $254-$404.18... yeah, but no.

It does show '87-91 so when they changed to TBI the cruise changed as well, guess that's obvious. So keep that in mind when you're looking for the part or calling around Craigslist or whatever.

Oh, and I couldn't find any decent pics for you either, found everything but what I was looking for.

Those servos are a pain to find - it took me over a month of searching yards and craigslist to finally find one. Also, when you find one, it a real crapshoot to see if it works since all the seals and the diaphragm go bad over time and don't hold vacuum.

If you plan on using the cruise alot, I would recommend a new part. And if you live in a hilly area, it probably wont be worth it - causes the engine to lug and then downshift and race to get up a hill.
