Need speedometer parts
Does anyone know where I can get the gear that bolts onto the transfer case and the speedometer cable?

Re: Need speedometer parts
Try this outfit. They have gears which are hard to find anywhere else.

Re: Need speedometer parts
Your local Chevy Dealer. That is the "driven gear" that needs to be changed to correct the speedometer after tire size or rear-end gear swaps. Many stock them in different tooth counts for just this kind of thing, but it may be getting harder since so many computer controlled vehicles are built today.

Re: Need speedometer parts
This is the part I need. I went to a chevy dealer and they said it is a discontiued part. I screwed tne speedometer cable right to the transfer case without this and my speedometer works, I just dont know if it is right. Can I just leave it off? Thanks for the help.

Re: Need speedometer parts
yes you can however your speedo will be way off. Like said before, it compensates for bigger tires/gears so the speedo will be acurate.

Re: Need speedometer parts
That's a ratio adapter. You can open it up and replace the gears inside if they are damaged or wrong. Most speedometer shops should have the gears.
