*Floor Creeper*

I'm finding it hard anymore to get down on the floor and clean my wheels on my 49. The last couple times I pulled the wheels off the truck and polished them on the work bench but that is a lot of work pulling the wheels off. I have the normal little roll around stool but it is not low enough to clean the wheels. I came across this today, Omega 91452 Low Profile Z-Creeper - 450 lbs. Capacity. A little pricey but it's a 3 in 1 stool that gets really low to the ground. What are you using when you really need to be low to the garage floor for some work?

Re: *Floor Creeper*

I hear ya Zippy the older you get the tougher it is. I'm lucky enough to have a Ramp Style Lift in my barn so it makes it easy, the only one I really clean myself is the 40 coupe.
But most of the time I take the truck to a combo Vietnamese Restaurant and 100% Hand Wash when I'm in the big city, what a combo eat fish head soup and get your ride washed. To be clear I do not eat there.
They are all over it like pigeons on birdseed including vacuum and tire shine for $25. They do a great job!

I have one from Sears, a Craftman. But I don’t ever use it. It just collects dust.

Tequila !

A few shots more than usual will have me creeping around on the garage floor for hours !

It's amazing how much you can get done while your already on the floor at can't get up !

Re: *Floor Creeper*

I think I'd be looking at bringing the wheels up to me if I had wheels to polish. I have a lift for my Harley. Makes keeping those chrome spokes up a pleasure. Ok, I lied. Makes it not as huge of a PIA as it could be. Makes it way way way easier for sure.

It's either that or sit on a floor creeper with your legs stradling the tire. You sure don't need a stool unless you have a lift

Yeah...I've got one of those as well. Mine is wood and I don't use mine either. The one I posted is a 3- in 1 so I like the one position where you are almost setting on the ground.

Re: *Floor Creeper*

I've got the same Craftsman creeper TKCR posted and use it often. It shows a lot more wear than his. One thing I've noticed lately though is I have to get down on one knee and roll onto it and to get back up I have to reverse the process. Leg strength has gone away in my old age. Years ago, early 70's, when I had hair that reached about to my collar I was on an old wood style creeper with those disc type rollers and I rolled over that hair tearing a chunk out. It was straight to the barber for me, hippie days were over. Man that hurt!

Re: *Floor Creeper*

Wish I had a lift like special-K mentioned. I have a 2 1/2 car garage and I'm at capacity. Now if the wife's car wasn't there that would be a different story. I don't even want to go there.

I've got one of those. It looks a lot like an upside down plastic milk basket.

Re: *Floor Creeper*

One of the things I didn't like about this house when we were looking was that the driveway is just long enough to park the truck on without obstructing the sidewalk, and it has a slope, as shown in my avatar picture. Creepers for me are pieces of cardboard.

Re: *Floor Creeper*

Would ramps help? I have some heavy-duty Rhino Ramps that raise the vehicle about 10".

Re: *Floor Creeper*

A lift is a piece of heaven for sure. I've never had one. I have a stone driveway and only one slab I don't have access to while my '67 project sits there. So creepers collect dust, as well as my rolling stool. But without a lift, why not just jack up one end at a time to get them up? Anything is better than on the ground. It's what you do when you remove them to polish without the wheel R & R (the hardest part)
