'71 K/20 Build

Hey I am new to this forum and I have a question. So I am curious as to what it would take to swap a 4bt or 6bt cummins into a '71 K/20 4x4? For the modification needed would it even be worth it. Or would be a better and cheaper approach to take the 350 that is in it now and stroke it out to a 383?

Re: '71 K/20 Build

There are a couple of Cummins builds in the engine section of the forum. There is a nice 72' suburban with a 6bt swap, DieselWrencher's longhorn build with 6bt, and Ryan's advanced 6bt build as we speak. Go to the engine forum, and click under Diesel Conversions. As far as your question, it will be easier and cheaper to build the 350. Diesel Conversions aren't cheap, just bought my Duramax for my conversion on my crew. Trevor

Re: '71 K/20 Build

Hey thanks I will go check it out. I found a place that sell new diesel motors and a 4bt is still 12K sooo yeah if I am gonna spend that money I will get a 502. So I might just lookin into stroking it then. I will check those builds out just to get an idea thanks for the help.
