The driveline angles were bad when it was hanging low. Now all the angles are great. Most people think "o is that for your two speed rear end". When you tell them it's another transmission there minds are blown. I like it when I get asked what is in it and I say just a little 4cyl.

i have toyed with the idea of putting a 4-53t in mine, but they are a pain to find and expensive when you do find them

Re: 77 gmc c35 dually 4-53t detroit

I drive it everyday. I have 9 vehicles and I only drive this one. I just filled up today haven't got fuel for over a week held a whole 23.00 dollars. I need to get a video but with two sticks its a little hard to hold a camera. I put in some 9a90 injectors it had 5a60 injectors in it. It is a lot more fun to drive it plain hauls butt gets better mpg and a lot less throttle is needed to get moving or stay moving. If you don't watch the go pedal and get a little to far in it no one behind you can see where they are going.

Any chance for a Gopro camera mount for the video?

Re: 77 gmc c35 dually 4-53t detroit

Just thought I would share this. I was driving the 5500 up the interstate the other day and I had an 18 wheeler pull up next to me. He hung right there for a couple of miles and motioned me to open the window. The guy wanted to know if the truck was really a twin stick. When I motioned to him that it was it made his day. Its pretty cool running past a trucker that remembers the earlier days.

Subscribed!

I'm torn between a 6.0L/TH400 or a DD 4-53T/Allison for my 79 C20. I like the fact that it fit in a 2WD square.

Keep the pictures flowing!

It's very controllable that video was floored. I hardly never drive it like that. With in town driving it just slightly hazes. I do need more turbo down lower in rpm I'm contemplating compound turbos.

Re: 77 gmc c35 dually 4-53t detroit

Well she decide to drop all her oil on the ground. One of the oil filter lines broke at the fitting and poured oil out. I also found the oil cooler and adapter plate leaking so I pulled everything off the side of the block for reseal. I tell you its not easy working on in the truck but once you pull out the inner fenders and everything else its not bad.
