72 doors vs. 69

I have a line on some new aftermarket Goodmark doors that are for 72 that I could pick up for my 69 Blazer fairly reasonably and save my body guy a good amount of time (obviously they would be cut for the Blazer. My question (beyond the hole below the vent) is what else is different? Are the inner doors punched out differently? Will all my 69 door regulators, handle hardware, and door panels bolt on to those shells? Nylon Inserts for the 69 armrests there or at least the square holes? I don't want to use 72 hardware and door panels. What can you tell me? Thanks.

The 72's use a different inside handle mechanism, I guess because of the door panel?

Yes I know but I don't know if the inner door stamping is different. I know the stems are longer for a 72. What about the door stamping itself?

Re: 72 doors vs. 69

Sorry, don't know about that. I just searched the sight & found a pic of a 72 door & compared with one of mine, I can't see a difference. (top pic borrowed from Dieselwrencher's build thread) Maybe I'm missing something?

Re: 72 doors vs. 69

Thanks a bunch for finding these photos. It appears that the arm rest areas are different.

Re: 72 doors vs. 69

I made my own flat door panels for my ‘72 Jimmy years ago. I just bolted on 69-71 arm rests with no problems. I don’t think you will have any issues running the ‘72 doors on your early truck.
