Question Dropping the rear 5" 67 C10 2 wheel drive.

I am just about ready to order drop coil springs and drop shocks for my truck.
I currently have a 5" front and a 6" rear drop on the truck. It was done incorrectly.
I want a 3" in the front and a 5" in the rear, I am told I should have the frame notched for this. I seem to be ok now, although the previous owner did remover the rubber bumper. Does anyone have a 5" drop in the rear without notching the frame?
Just curious what I am in for, and maybe go with a 4" instead.

Thank you.

from my understanding you really only need to notch the frame when you do a big drop like that if you plan on towing/hauling heavy loads in the bed....... i think primer_72 has a 6" rear drop with no c notch

Actually a 5" rear drop with no c-notch. Havent bottomed it out yet, even when I was carrying a new 4x4 Rancher in the back. So I would say no need for a C-notch...
