AD Headlight switch
I have a couple of headlight switches that came with the truck. Is there a way to tell 12v vs 6v? Or does it even matter?

it doesnt matter, much. the 6v contacts will be rated for twice the current of the 12v switch, but either will handle 6 or 12v in my opinion.

Put your headlights on a relay! Then you dont run many amps thru the switch...

If the switch is good and you run relays the switch will think it has ended up on easy street because it will only be carrying the load to trigger the relays. The only real issue anyhow is how the resistor handles the dimming of the dash lights.

Don't mess around with something as important as headlights. spend the $40 on a new 12 V switch from classic parts.
