56 truck roof radio speaker location

I have a 56 2nd series truck and I'm wondering if I am to have a speaker mounted to the roof, CENTERED just above the windshield. It appears that the hole is factory but I've not seen one on line. If this is factory, can you send me a few pictures to verify what i'm needing? My truck didn't come with one mounted when I bought it. I could use your help.

So it is stock, thanks Joe I really appreciate it. the holes looked to perfect to be something somebody did on their own. I'll look for one.

Yep, factory type looks like that. I remember someone offering a "stereo speakers" retrofit that put two small speakers in that box. I can't imagine being able to hear much out of them.

when I bought my truck, it had (7) speakers in it. A police officer friend of mine said, "that's why these truck owners don't pull over, they can't hear the sirens"!! lol

Re: 56 truck roof radio speaker location

my setup:
retrosound radio
dual 4" Custom Autosound speakers in the stock location in the box above the rearview mirror
self powered Kenwood subwoofer under the seat.

sounds alot better than youde expect from just the two little speakers and the subwoofer.. then again, the cab is a pretty small space to fill with sound
