Red face Cruise control question

Hi all,
I need your help. I am beginner with 78 Suburbans. I saw that mine must be equipped with a criuse control but don't find the switch to turn it on or to test it . May someone of you help me.

Sorry for my stupid question.

Cheers! Andy

Does anyone have an Owner's manual for a 1978 Suburban and is able to scan it to a PDF file ? This would be great! ...

Re: Cruise control question

There should be a button in the end of the turn signal stalk, push in a second to set. I had a 76 like that and there was no on/off/accel/decel feature. Not that I knew of. You can get factory service manuals copied to CD on ebay for around $45.

Hi John,
thanks for your answer. I just had a look into the LMC catalog. Number 6 shows the turn signal lever for my model. As there is no elecrtical plug I don't assume that there is a button which works ?!? What do you think?

Re: Cruise control question

Does yours say "Cruise" on the end of the stalk in white letters with a small white arrow pointing to the end as shown here?

If not you may have something aftermarket. Aftermarket cruise control was very popular at that time.

You are right! It's an aftermarket stalk. Thanks very much John. Now I'll take the challenge to find one of these original ones. Puh! ....

Re: Cruise control question

My 79 had aftermarket cruise on it when I got it, it's all gone now.
