Little Suburban Culture

Just bought a K10 4x4 & joined the forum, thought I would post of a painting my brother in law did of his 1971 Suburban.
It is a factory hugger orange and white.
A few years back I put a 330 hp crate motor in it.
Thought you might enjoy this

Re: Little Suburban Culture

That's a real nice painting. The image it creates is classic West Coast surfin' style. And what a perfect vehicle for that! I always wanted a 4wd Suburban just for that. I can still see the one I saw on Cape Hatteras in the '70s parked on the beach with the rear facing the waves. It had burlap curtains in the back/side windows,Red Orange,& wide black steel wheels. When I hit the West Coast it was in a '66 VW Bus with my version of a "Baja Bus" treatment. Never did move up to a Suburban till I settled down to being a family man

Actually that is looking south at Torrey Pines State Beach (bottom of the hill). I know this spot exactly and only work a couple miles from it. Nice painting.

That's wild! It made me think of that area, but not being a local I wouldn't dare to say. It's also been a long long time for me. Is Black's Beach still nude?

Yea it still is a nude beach, but it's definitely not the beach I'd like to visit.
Just keep on driving..
