stake pocket extension?

HI
I've got a second set of stepside box sides that are in rough shape that i'm thinking of doing a stake pocket extension, and putting in caddy tail lights,
i'm curious do they make the whole rear extension out of new metal connect to existing pocket or do the split the stake pocket in half and add new metal to middle.

Thanks
