I would pack a good assortment of tools, in a canvas bag, something like a medic bag from army surplus, rust is an issue with toolboxes. Just pack a good assortment, you can buy the ones you don't have as the needs arise. A good jack and lug wrench would also help. Cell phone or CB.....

I'd recommend putting in a hidden "kill" switch. A guy I knew years ago drove his Yenko Chevelle to college and came out one day to find it gone! I'd definitely look into ways to keep it from getting stolen.Lots of people could see $$$ signs when they see a classic Blazer. Just sayin'.
